In-person and virtual interpretation for legal proceedings, medical consultations, business meetings, and community events.
Interpretation is different from translation. A translator works with written text and has time to research terminology. An interpreter works in real time, converting spoken language instantly in a live setting. This requires a different skill set and a different type of specialist.
We provide consecutive and simultaneous interpretation for legal proceedings, including court hearings, depositions, mediations, and arbitrations. We also support medical consultations, patient interviews, and clinical assessments where a patient and provider do not share a language.
For business settings, we support boardroom meetings, investor calls, site visits, and training sessions. For community settings, we assist with municipal meetings, public consultations, and community organization events.
Virtual interpretation via Zoom, Teams, or other platforms is available for clients who do not need in-person attendance. Interpretation rates are priced per hour with a minimum booking. For Alberta clients, we can often arrange same-week availability for Tagalog, Spanish, Punjabi, and Mandarin.
"The interpreter for our legal mediation was professional, composed under pressure, and accurate throughout a 4-hour session. We will use Translators House again."
